This is an effect I created when I was booked for Valentine’s Week at The Magic Castle. It is, simply, a perfect effect to do for a couple. That is its reason for being, and even if you do not add it to your formal act, there will certainly be times you are very glad you own this trick. Anniversaries… engagements… weddings… or simply when you find out that two people in the group are a couple. The Power of Love uses a COMPLETELY ORIGINAL DECK of images, printed in FULL COLOR on PLASTIC STOCK that has been TEXTURED on the rear. Sourcing out the perfect manufacturer for this effect was key, as the cards are continuously handled by spectators, and I wanted the deck to be indestructible. The effect? Each member of the couple is given a picture of a heart, as well as pictures that symbolize the “speed bumps” we go through in life. They both mix up their cards, turning them face up and face down along the way, yet when they are done you reveal that one and only one card is reversed in each of their piles of cards… and it is the HEART. Truly, they are meant for each other, and believe in the power of love! This is a self-working effect, but it’s a powerful one. To the participants, THEY are responsible for the amazing climax. It’s about THEIR FEELINGS for one another.
